Where possible, we meet with you at your premises to acquire sufficient information about the vacancy, your company values and culture.

5. Skills assessments

Our recruitment fee includes a range of specialized assessments including administrative and accounting assessments.

We require candidates to complete relevant Skills Assessments to support their CV’s, such as Bookkeeping, MS Office Suite, Numeracy, Telephone Etiquette, Typing, etc. We utilise an Online Assessment Tool called “Prove It”, which is managed by IBM. Detailed reports, with the results, are available for your review. 

6. Interviewing

We use both competency based and targeted selection interview techniques that enable us to match the right talent to your opportunity.

7. Screening

We save you time and money by using our expertise to identify potential talent to add to your short list of candidates for interview.

8. Shortlisting

We select and submit a range of candidates who best match your requirements.

9. Client interviews

On your instruction, we manage the full interview process by confirming dates, times, venues and interview panels.

10. Job offer negotiation

We communicate your offer of employment, manage the salary negotiation process and assist with employment contracts by either providing our generic contract or reviewing your contract. We provide your feedback to unsuccessful candidates.

11. Post-hiring support and communication

We support the candidate through their resignation process and remain in touch until start date and beyond by conducting regular progress calls with you and the candidate.

In today’s business environment, companies rely on a variety of staffing solutions. Whether you have cyclical growth spurts that require contract resources or you need to cover maternity or annual leave, the effective placement of a contract staff member ensures your permanent employees can go about their business without the stress of added responsibilities.

1. Submit vacancy requirement

Please send us your Contract placement requirement. We require a job description, salary information and time frames.

2. Site visit

We will visit your premises if you are based in Cape Town. For other regions, we will discuss your requirements telephonically or via Skype.

3. Service Level Agreement

We will send you a Service Level Agreement that clearly outlines our terms and conditions.

4. Candidate search

We will conduct a database search of available candidates and draw up a short list of candidates. All candidates will already have been interviewed and screened and their skills, background and references will have been checked.

5. Submit CV's

We will submit CV’s of suitable candidates within the shortest possible time frame for your consideration.

6. Candidate selection

You will select candidates for interview or for immediate appointment depending on the urgency of your situation.

7. Appointment & administration

The Contractor will commence their assignment with you. Salaries are paid directly to the Contractor by your Company. Basic Conditions of Employment such as Sick Leave, Annual Leave, payment for Public Holidays amongst others, are your responsibility. It is strongly recommended that a Fixed Term Contract which clearly indicates the terms and conditions of the employment period, be entered into with the Contractor. In terms of the Labour Relations Amended Act 6 of 2014, the employment period must be based on a justifiable reason as defined in the Act. To assist you, please click here to review “Annexure A” which indicates the various allowable options for a fixed term contract appointment. Please note that a new Annexure must be completed for each Fixed Term Contract entered into. The validity of any such contract will remain your responsibility and Smilers Selection will not be held liable for any damages or costs as a result of non-compliance by yourself.

8. Post-hiring support

We provide regular post hiring support and communication for the duration of the Contract.
