An opportunity for a COST ACCOUNTANT WITH FOREX experience to join the Finance team and add value with your high attention to detail, ability to manage complex reconciliations, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.



  • Process foreign payments (CNY to USD)
  • Foreign currency stock costings (CNY to USD to ZAR)
  • Manage foreign exchange contracts
  • Review and manage 2 China – based offices’ Accounts & Funds
  • Overseas supplier reconciliations
  • Calculate and reconcile Customs VAT
  • Manage Marine Insurance
  • Manage evidence of importation
  • SA Reserve Bank Applications / Blanket approvals
  • Manage Nedtreasury account
  • Process General, Supplier and Inventory Journals
  • Process Goods Received Vouchers
  • Review and manage Filemaker (in house stock operating system)
  • Implement and maintain appropriate internal controls
  • Liaise with banks, customs & excise, in house departments
  • Assist with Cash Flow preparation
  • Assist with Budgeting process
  • Assist with Annual audit preparation and liaise with the auditors (February year end)
  • Assist the Financial Manager with ad hoc tasks / projects


  • Grade 12 + B.Tech in Cost & Management Accounting or Internal Auditing or B. Com (Management Accounting) Degree with above average academic results essential
  • Completed SAICA training Contract plus 3 to 5 years’ relevant commercial experience essential
  • Computer literacy in Pastel Partner & MS Excel Advanced level essential
  • Proven experience of foreign exchange transactions and processes
  • Proven experience of complex foreign supplier reconciliations
  • High attention to detail
  • Organised, logical and focused approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Deadline driven and able to work accurately under pressure
  • Own transport and valid driver’s license


  • Remuneration: R28-35000 pm commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Working hours: 07h30 to 16h00 or 08h00 to 16h30, Monday to Friday
  • Annual Leave: 3 weeks to be taken over Dec / Jan office shutdown
