Our client is the South African franchisee of one of the leading global real estate franchisors, with offices around South Africa. A career opportunity is available for a mid level to senior Finance Manager to join their Finance team based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Duties & Responsibilities

Accounting/Finance

  • Oversee all Day to Day Accounting for 5 entities (2 normal size, 1 tiny, 2 shell companies)
  • Review Monthly Management Accounts for 1 larger entity monthly
  • Prepare Monthly Management Accounts for 1 tiny & 2 shell companies when required (No group reporting necessary, just each individual entity)
  • Prepare Annual Budget with CFO for 1 large entity annually
  • Review Cashflow Reports monthly & provided to CFO & Board quarterly
  • Review International Reporting Submission & Submit International payment on Standard Bank Forex Banking System
  • Assist Auditors with Audit & Annual Financials for the 5 entities
  • Prepare Tax Submissions and payments for each entity in conjunction with Auditors
  • Raise Loan Journals (monthly), Audit Journals (annually) & reconcile Loan accounts (monthly)
  • Reconcile & maintain any loan accounts/balance sheet accounts
  • Payroll & Leave Days Tracking
  • Submit PAYE monthly
  • Prepare & Submit EMP501 & IRP5’s bi-annually
  • UIF Record Maintenance & any UIF queries
  • Tracking of Salary Increases & Prepare Annual Bonus Calculations
  • Review & Submit VAT201 monthly
  • Prepare & Submit Workman’s Compensation return & any claims
  • Any other Financial & Operational Management required

Billing

  • Manage & Oversee Billing monthly
  • Review Monthly Billing Reports before they are sent
  • Review & Oversee Debtors Control
  • Set Billing Dates Annually & Sent out Billing Notices Annually
  • Private Property bi-annual calculations & notices
  • Review Minimum Quota monthly
  • Implement any Billing changes as & when required (i.e. introduction of Minimum Quota Billing/system development etc.)

Banking

  • Assist with Foreign Exchange Control Renewal every 2nd year
  • Bank Account Maintenance & Facility Review Co – ordination
  • Any administration requirements for Internet banking system

Administration of Student Employment Scheme

  • Administration of Student Employment Contracts
  • Assist with Tax & Legal requirements involving student employees

Other Accounting

  • Assist with Subsidiary financials

  • You will work as part of a 5-person accounting team

  • Report primarily to the CFO & CEO

Details about the Person:

  • Accounting Degree required
  • 5+ years relevant similar working experience essential
  • Accounting Package experience required:
    • Pastel Partner (Desktop version)
    • Pastel Payroll
    • Pastel Cloud
  • Previously managed a team
  • Personality type

Package & Remuneration

  • Salary & benefits: R35,000-R40,000pm + medical aid
